Description

This app turns your iPhone (or iPad) into a geological compass, a tool for each geologist. It can be used to measure the direction of dip and the angle of dip of geological strata. The app shows the current device orientation in a realtime stereographic projection. The data can be previewed in projection diagrams (Wulff and Schmidt Net) and transferred to your computer. You can add text to the measurements and plot the measurement localities on a map.

A must have for geologists

Simple and efficient alternative to bringing a bruntun with you in the field. This one doesn't cost 300$. Just get it.

Fantastic App- just one change pls.

This app is my dream come true! Only thing is, I would prefer to to use my Brunton for measurements and have the ability to enter them into the app manually. The best part of this app is that you don't have to drag tracing paper into the field with you, and while the app takes measurements, I just don't think they would be as accurate as a Brunton. If you add the option to have the ability to manually enter data points, I would then say it is a 5-star app! Granted- you can upload the data onto your PC and change the points to your own measurements, but then what would be the point of the app?

Manual entry

I have to agree with the other reviewer. The app would be much more useful if data could be entered manually. That would sure beat carrying a net a tracing paper, plus it would cut out any human error in plotting. Otherwise this is a great app! Keep up the good work!
