Description

Start off on the right note every time with Onyx. This beautiful pitch pipe sports a three-octave range in C-C or F-F, with your choice of carefully crafted sounds: choose piano or clarinet to hear your note for several seconds, or switch to continuous playback mode to loop strings or horns for as long as you like. Or, for pinpoint accuracy, use our custom sine wave generator instead and avoid those annoying loud pops that other apps can create. Every sound option can be finely tuned to your exact frequency, and you can choose from four themes to find the look that suits you best. For instant access right from your desktop or Today View, use the interactive widget: just tap a note to hear it. That's our pitch, now find yours!

Where is the widget?

Based on past reviews, I just purchased this app specifically for the availability of a widget.

Edited: It is a bit confusing because of the iOS 14 update, but I was eventually able to get the widget on my phone. I’m not sure how I did it, but it’s there now and I love the app! Maybe something could be included somewhere about how to get the widget?

Developer Response ,

Please contact me directly at forScore.co/kb so I can help you access the widget. Apple changed how this works with iOS 14 and moved things around, but it's definitely still there!

The best pitch pipe app available

This is by far and away the best pitch pipe app out there. The interface is clean and intuitive, and I like how I can choose three different octaves. Also, this app still sounds when your phone is in silent mode, which I noticed is not the case with other apps. Your search is over—this is the pitch pipe app you need!

Tuning

I’ve used this app for years and I love it, but I literally just noticed that the pitches are significantly flat when compared to a piano. I don’t know if it’s always been this way or it’s due to a recent update, but either way I can’t use this in my singing group of it’s not tuned closer to A 440. This is very disappointing and I hope you guys fix it!!!

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback—the tuning of the pitch pipe is adjustable, so please check that you haven't unintentionally changed that setting (tap the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner). If it's set to 440 and you're still noticing issues, please reach out to me directly at forScore.co/support so we can figure out what's going on. Thanks again!
