Just plug the Vyncs Link cellular wireless device into the OBD-II port of your car, create an account, and you are good to go. Vyncs offers many services like GPS tracking, vehicle maintenance, recall notification, driver scoring, teen driver coaching, and roadside assistance. In order to use the Vyncs app you will need a Vyncs account with a valid service package. The Vyncs Link device makes use of a built-in SIM card to send data to your account over the cellular wireless network. That means it works without requiring a phone in the car all the time.

Dropped GPS get stuck

I love the trips feature and the location feature, but I have found that certain places my daughter drives the GPS somehow breaks the car’s connection for the rest of the day. It won’t reset until I reset it. That’s not acceptable for my specific safety needs. Is there a way to fix that drop more quickly? Until it is reset the “trip” shows the same exact start and stop location every single time the device is activated. I can see the car was driven 10.4 miles, but there is no authentic start and stop, only that one location over and over.

Second time round

This is the second Vsyncs unit I have had, this time round it has been a great purchase for the price.

The first one I purchased for my Daughters car as she was over 4hrs away at College in a totally different state. The set up was relatively easy specially as I also purchased a special harness so it could be hidden under the dashboard without affecting the OBD II connection. However after she had been gone about 3 weeks it failed. After speaking with Tech support there was nothing we could do until I could physically perform resets, so that had to wait until my daughter was home on break. To cut a long story short I got fed up with dealing with Tech support and customer service who didn’t appear to want to stand behind the product, so I sent it back for a refund.

About 9 months later I decided to give them another try. I installed it exactly the same way as the first one and it has worked GREAT for the last 3 yrs. The only issue we have is that it has to be unplugged for the annual inspection because of a false signal it send to the inspection computer which in turn fails the test.

My business partner and I are currently looking for a tracking solution for our service vehicles Vsyncs WILL be one of the units that will make the list of hopefuls.

I wish they had something for motorcycles I would probably put one on both mine and my wife’s bikes

Terrible app for tracking teens

This app is set up for you to set a governor speed notification on your app. The only way to see speeds at different gps locations is to physically go into the map and check it. What parent has time for that! I just want a notification to say “your son was speeding by going ___ in a ___ mph zone”. It doesn’t do that. I just get notifications saying he was going 25 mph. Okay so was he speeding??? I have to go into the app and see exactly which street he was on and figure out what the speed limit is on that street because their system lists 0 mph on a lot of streets. I have talked to customer support numerous times and they keep telling me to set the speed limit. I don’t want to set a governor speed limit. I have set 15 mph so it will notify me every time he’s going over 15. What a joke! I want to know when he is going 15 mph OVER the speed limit for the street he is on!! I just want to know when he’s speeding. I don’t think that too much to ask of a vehicle monitoring app….
