Description

Coloring books cheat kids. They call for passive filling-in rather than planning, creating, thinking, solving problems and being creative. This app is a treasure trove of ideas designed to free imagination, foster healthy, active self-expression and affirm individuality.

Am I missing something?

I was so excited to get this. I loved the anti-coloring books as a child. But I seem to be missing something. First, do you really only get THREE pages after buying the app? I can't seem to find any others. The Art Gallery and the Begin seem to do the same thing. Additional books cost a dollar, which is no problem, but...how do you know how many pages you get for that dollar? What about the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth books?
And why don't the tools seem optimized for Retina displays?

Good in theory but dated and not taking advantage of the digital mediums

Sort of an angry take on coloring. “You’re gonna like this coloring because it’s the one I say is good for you”.

Which is not false.

The content of the pages is great and prompts thought from children or even parents who want to color. But the implementation is more like someone photocopied some books and combined them with clipart UI buttons. In a throwback to software from the Bush era, it’s constantly asking you to save your work. The pages, ui, and coloring output don’t match in visual styles at all.

For the price it’s ok, but it’s just not a super enjoyable experience. I’d gladly pay $10-15 for the original physical copies of these to do on a rainy day off screen. But in the digital age the digital experience needs to go much farther.

Just wasted $2

This app sounds great in theory but is truly awful. It won’t let you get out of a drawing without saving. If you try to delete, nothing happens. And there are about 5 templates total. What a joke.
